Frequently Asked Questions

What is the IB Diploma Programme?

The IB Diploma is a rigorous 2-year pre-university qualification for students aged 16–19. Students study 6 subjects (3 at Higher Level, 3 at Standard Level) alongside three core components: Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and CAS. Maximum score is 45 points.

How is IB different from A Levels?

A Levels are subject-specialist (3–4 subjects in depth). IB is broader — 6 subjects across different disciplines, plus compulsory EE, TOK, and CAS. IB is often preferred by US universities; both are highly regarded globally.

Can you help with just one IB subject, or do I need the full package?

We tutor students in individual IB subjects — you do not need to take sessions for all subjects. Many students come to us for one or two challenging HL subjects.

Do you help with Extended Essay topic selection?

Yes — we offer dedicated EE planning sessions. Choosing the right topic and research question is critical. Our tutors have guided students to grade A EEs across all subject areas.

My school does not offer IB — can I still study it with you?

ELAAF can support IB students registered at any IB World School globally. We are an independent tutoring provider, not an IB school, but our tutors are fully qualified to tutor all IB content.
